Given the social and medical climate, it’s difficult to stay absolutely safe in New Birmingham – which is why citizens should stay educated as to how to spot a degenerate that has managed to go undetected by authorities - and how to defend yourself.
1. Eyes
A major tell-tale sign of infection in a degenerate is in the eyes. As pure, proud humans, it is the way we have evolved to identify our fellow man – this is different in the infected race. Degenerates’ pupils split like a multiplying amoeba, and appear as though they are regarding us with four eyes at full infection. At very early stages (i.e. A day or a week following contact with a disease carrier), degenerates show signs as merely disproportionally wide pupils resembling that of a goat. Remember it with this rhyme: Circle eyes, regular guys; Goat eyes, people dies.
2. Movement
People, especially those you’re familiar with, can be recognised by their gait and manner of walking even when they’re so far away that their features aren’t visible. However, even if someone you know well is infected with degeneretism, they could become completely unrecognisable. They begin to walk as if puppeteered by some giant, unseen force. Their heads sag and their shoulders are raised high – while their feet drag.
3. Speech
No matter how eloquent degenerates were in life, it is all for nought post infection. Speech becomes slurred to the point of being unintelligible, and could be mistaken for someone suffering from a stroke. However, this symptom paired with the previous two can prove the individual is not someone to be pitied or helped, but to be exterminated.
